A year ago today, this was our first post on Tumblr.
We thank all our followers for sticking with us. We can’t wait to spend another year sharing the Peace Corps story with all of you!
P.S. We still need a few more followers (2,500!) to reach our goal of 15,000 followers in our first year, so please spread the word!
Here’s one of the vintage PSAs we shared earlier this year in honor of our 50th
“If your dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough.” - Her Excellency Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of the Republic of Liberia and the first elected female Head of State in Africa, at Harvard University’s 360th Commencement Ceremony
“I’m inspired by the work of Peace Corps Volunteers around the world. Volunteers share their creativity and compassion with their local communities. I hope this print inspires the next generation of Volunteers.” - Shepard Fairey
Fairey has a personal connection with the Peace Corps through his sister, who served as a Volunteer in Togo.
In honor of our ONE YEAR TUMBLRVERSARY this week we are reblogging some of our favorite posts from the past year that you may have missed if you just joined us. This is one of our favorite photos from our Digital Library that we shared back in June!

We’d love to reach 15,000 followers to celebrate the occasion. REBLOG this or your favorite post from our archives to spread the word!
