Today we announced the top states and cities where Peace Corps Volunteers call home in 2011. California, New York, and Texas topped the list, while the greatest number of Volunteers per capita came from the District of Columbia, Vermont, and Oregon. In 2011,For the second consecutive year, Missoula, Mont., topped the list of metro areas, followed by Ithaca, N.Y. and Fort Collins, Colo.
Currently, there are more than 9,000 volunteers serving in 75 countries around the world.
