“This photo was taken in Burkina Faso in 2013. It was one of the first times I was taking public transportation back to my village. Before leaving, the drivers loaded the car with the other participants belongings. Somewhere in the pile was my bag and bicycle. The ride cost me one dollar.”
There are 101 volunteers in Burkina Faso working with their communities on projects in education, health and community economic development. More than 1,940 Peace Corps volunteers have served in Burkina Faso since the program was established in 1967.
