This picture perfectly exemplifies how I felt trying to learn Sarahule in the first few days of language training. Six months later, I still struggled to translate Hansel & Gretel initially, but after a few compounds, I slowly got the hang of the story and was able to share this story, something unimaginable six months ago. It’s hard to pinpoint an individual accomplishment each day or each month, but 10 days of reading with children and adults (mainly in Sarahule) makes me most proud of how far my language skills have come.
