Yesterday I had the wonderful opportunity of doing a Sex Ed Session with my GLOW club! I did condom demonstrations (and gave condoms to the girls) and talked about sex and everything related to it. We addressed the issues of early pregnancies and HIV/AIDS as well as the more positive topic of sex for pleasure! Women getting pleasure from sex is a pretty new concept here, and they wanted to know more about it. They also asked about homosexual sex and about masturbation! The afternoon was full of important conversations and it was such a big success!! Also a huge shout out to my amazing GLOW counterpart! There’s been some gossip/rumors going around the school, so today in GLOW club our theme was Friendship/Anti-Gossip! It was such an incredible meeting and I was blown away by the love these girls have for each other. We did activities and had discussions and I couldn’t help but notice how far these girls have come in the 6 months we’ve been meeting! The Rural Aquaculture Promotion project is focused primarily on the principles and practices of rural-based, small-scale, integrated agriculture technologies. Volunteers work in close collaboration with Zambia’s Department of Fisheries with the goal of improving rural livelihoods through fish farming.
