“Creo is 7 and just learning to read. I’ve noticed him practicing on the compost sign in my garden but never gave it a second thought. This morning he surprised me with a compost pile he made himself yesterday, following the directions on my sign. As much as the kids can drive me up the wall, this is what the future of farming in Zambia looks like and I couldn’t be prouder to see the proof of it right in my yard.”

"I always love sharing my background and story with others, especially during my service in Zambia. My race and culture are something I’m incredibly proud of and sharing these aspects of myself, and having the chance to teach people in my host country that Americans truly do come in all colors, shapes and sizes, is an experience I’ll never forget."

Yesterday I had the wonderful opportunity of doing a Sex Ed Session with my GLOW club! I did condom demonstrations (and gave condoms to the girls) and talked about sex and everything related to it. We addressed the issues of early pregnancies and HIV/AIDS as well as the more positive topic of sex for pleasure! Women getting pleasure from sex is a pretty new concept here, and they wanted to know more about it. They also asked about homosexual sex and about masturbation! The afternoon was full of important conversations and it was such a big success!! Also a huge shout out to my amazing GLOW counterpart! Thank you for bringing your insight and energy to the group! #Glow #girlsleadingourworld #girlsempowerment #pczambia

There’s been some gossip/rumors going around the school, so today in GLOW club our theme was Friendship/Anti-Gossip! It was such an incredible meeting and I was blown away by the love these girls have for each other. We did activities and had discussions and I couldn’t help but notice how far these girls have come in the 6 months we’ve been meeting! So much love for my GLOW girls! #girlsleadingourworld #girlsempowerment #affirmations #antigossip #antibullying
